About the Event
Invited scientists from around the world will participate in the Fifth Worldwide Review (WWR-5) Workshop. Hosted at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, scientists will meet face to face and virtually (which is a first for this Workshop series). This two-day workshop will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, May 25-26, 2016.
The overall objective of WWR-5 is to summarize the experience and lessons learned documented in the Fifth Worldwide Review Report, and to establish future cooperation/collaboration between the participating countries pursuing geological disposal programs.
The Workshop will include oral presentations of the countries, followed by group discussions of the materials. The materials of the group discussions will be summarized as individual chapters and included in the final edition of the Fifth Worldwide Review Report, which will be issued after the workshop (see all Worldwide Review reports). The Fifth Worldwide Review Report will be published as an e-book, and the Oxford Research Encyclopedia (ORE) will publish an article-summary of the report which will feature links to individual chapters of the report.
