Earlier this month (Jan 2014), the Sacramento–based California Water and Environmental Modeling Forum (CWEMF) awarded ESD’s Nigel Quinn a Distinguished Life Membership Award for 2014. This award is given annually to active or past CWEMF members who, through long and distinguished service, have made a major contribution to CWEMF and to the California water and environmental modeling profession.
In selecting Quinn for this award, the CWEMF cited his “many years of outstanding service to the organization, including the three years [he] served as Covener and [his] active participation in the Steering Committee.” CWEMF also recognized Quinn’s “significant efforts to organize technical workshops and sessions at the organization’s annual meeting,” and his “work to establish the framework for model peer reviews.”
This award will be presented to Quinn during the CWEMF’s Annual Meeting at the Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom, California—Monday evening, February 24, 2014.
