Pat Dobson has been named a fellow of The Geological Society of America. GSA members are elected to fellowship in recognition of a sustained record of distinguished contributions to the geosciences and to the society.
An EESA staff scientist, Dobson is the Area’s Geothermal Systems Program Lead. Since joining Berkeley Lab’s former Earth Sciences Division in 2000, he has been involved in a variety of geologic and geochemical research projects. Dobson led the laboratory’s efforts in the study of the Peña Blanca uranium deposits, a natural analogue for flow and transport processes at Yucca Mountain, for example. From 2007 to 2009, he served as a detailee for the Geosciences Research Program of DOE’s Office of Basic Energy Sciences. Read more about Pat here.
