Biography

Anna Spiers is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Climate and Ecosystem Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. At LBL, Dr. Spiers is working on the FATES vegetation demography model by improving model initialization and benchmarking with remote sensing data of forest structure and composition.

During her PhD at the University of Colorado Boulder, Anna studied how forest structure responds to interacting disturbances and improved how species misclassification is represented in occupancy models of ecological communities.
