Ilhan is a postdoctoral researcher in the Energy Geosciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received his PhD in Modeling of Hydrosystems from Technische Universität Berlin, Germany.
Ilhan is interested in computational methods for process-based hydrological modeling. More specifically, he is interested in high-order finite volume-type schemes, multiscale methods, and relaxation schemes to numerically model hydrological processes. Currently, he is working on multiscale modeling approaches for an integrated hydrology model in Colorado, supported by the Watershed Function SFA project.
He has been a member of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research since 2016.
