Jim Berryman joined LBNL as a senior scientist in 2006. Prior to that, he was a researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Lab for 25 years and in industry for 4 years (at CONOCO and Bell Laboratories). He has held visiting, consulting, and sabbatical appointments at various universities, including Stanford (Geophysics), University of Washington – Seattle (Applied Physics Lab), NYU (Courant Institute), and the IPGP – Paris. He has authored over 150 journal articles, a comparable number of conference proceedings papers and company internal reports, and holds four patents. Jim and his wife (for over 40 years) have two adult children, a daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and three grandchildren.
