Biography

Julia Szinai is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Area, pursuing her research interests in climate change mitigation and adaptation of coupled electricity and water systems. Throughout her graduate studies she has researched at the Pacific Institute and different areas of Berkeley Lab, evaluating the energy footprint related to water and the role of energy storage, demand response, and electric vehicles in grid decarbonization. Julia earned her PhD in Energy and Resources at UC Berkeley, and also holds a MS in Energy and Resources, a Masters of Public Policy, and a BA in economics and Spanish from UC Berkeley.
