Biography

Katerina Georgiou is a Ph.D. candidate, NSF and DOE SCGSR Graduate Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Her research is focused on developing and using data-driven numerical models of soil processes to better predict how carbon and nutrient cycling in terrestrial ecosystems will respond to changes in climate. She is particularly interested in understanding the environmental controls of soil carbon dynamics and how soil carbon storage responds to increases in temperature and plant inputs.
