Dr. Liang Chen is a research scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in Applied physics in 2009 from Stanford University in CA, U.S.A. and B.S. in Physics in 2003 from the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei, China. He joined the Ecology department of the Earth Sciences Division as a postdoctoral fellow in 2009 and became a research scientist since 2014. Dr. Liang Chen’s Ph.D. thesis is on the tracking of single molecule and single particle transport in neurons using advanced fluorescence microscopy methods. His current research interests are in development and applications of Synchrotron Infrared Spectro-microscopy for biochemical analysis in single cells and tissues.
