Oriana is interested in the interactions of plants and ecosystems within the context of environmental change. She is particularly interested in the local and global feedbacks of climatic changes within tundra ecosystems (both arctic and alpine). She currently provides general field research support to Dr. Margaret Torn and the Next-Generation Ecosystem Experiments (NGEE Arctic) project. She conducts field measurements of trace gas fluxes (CO2 and CH4), albedo, and NDVI at field sites located within the Seward Peninsula and Barrow, AK.
