Biography

Xiangzhong (Remi) Luo is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Climate and Ecosystem Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He obtained a PhD in physical geography from University of Toronto in late 2017. Before that, he received a MSc in physical geography from Peking University and a BSc in environment and resource management from Wuhan University. He studies the impacts of climate change on terrestrial ecosystems, with a focus on the terrestrial carbon cycle and water cycle.

Research Interests

As a climate change ecologist by training, my overarching goal is to understand the impacts of climate trend and variability on natural ecosystems. Specifically, I am studying the terrestrial carbon cycle and the physical and biological processes underlying it at spatial scales from leaf to the globe. I use eddy covariance measurements, remote sensing, process-based models as well as leaf traits measurements from field experiments in my research.
