Biography
Yi Dai is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Climate and Ecosystem Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). His current research interests include the effects of land-atmosphere interaction on convection initiation and organization, and understanding how well such effects are represented in the earth system models. He mainly uses numerical models to study the summer convections over the continental United States.
Prior to joining LBNL, Yi Dai was a graduate research assistant studying tropical cyclones (TCs) at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, University of Miami. His PhD work is about how the interaction between environmental flows and TC outflow will affect TC structure and intensity.
