The Berkeley Synchrotron Infrared Structural Biology (BSISB) Imaging Project is uniquely located on the roof blocks of the Advanced Light Source (ALS) linear accelerator (or “linac”) and beamline test facility. By exploiting the spatial and temporal resolutions available from the infrared photon beams, we develop state-of-the-art instrumentation for unprecedented characterization and imaging of interactions among plants, microbes, and the environment.
