This week, Monday through Wed. (Sep. 17-19), in the Building 50
auditorium, ESD is hosting a symposium on the applications and
enhancements of the TOUGH numerical simulator—a suite of computer
programs for simulating multiphase fluid and heat flow in porous and
fractured rock. The symposium will include more than 100 oral and poster
presentations from scientists and engineers from 35 countries,
covering diverse topics ranging from geothermal reservoir engineering,
geologic carbon storage, environmental remediation, geotechnical
engineering, and hydrocarbon recovery. More than 90 participants will
also attend short courses to learn more about the use of various
modules of the TOUGH software.
