She was mentored by Staff Scientist Charuleka Varadharajan and Postdoctoral Research Fellow Mohammed Ombadi during her Summer 2022 SULI term.

Currently an undergraduate student in Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment, Nagamoto’s SULI research investigated how climate change has impacted water quality in the Colorado River, with her AGU presentation focusing on this work. Nagamoto is passionate about climate advocacy, driving her motivation to study how natural cycles are impacted by humans. At Duke, she has been involved in climate dynamics and climate change research, in addition to science communication activities.
